With no decisive cure yet available, addressing HIV/AIDS demands a massive and persistent effort. SMHF had financially supported WHO and the Global Programme on AIDS' effort to disseminate information and promote public awareness of the issue. The foundation had also funded the participation of community workers and people living with HIV/AIDS, in international AIDS conferences held in Yokohama, Chiang Mai, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok.

SMHF realizes the importance of comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, by peer-support groups. Thus, we had supported the WHO Western Pacific Region's approach, which has established peer-support groups composed of people living with HIV/AIDS, health workers and NGOs in Thailand, Cambodia,Vietnam and China.
