Activities - Parasitic Disease Control

SMHF recognizes the parasite control as one of the important public health issues in developing countries. The foundation had supported their related research and control in the countries such as the Philippines, China, the Central African Republic, Cambodia and Timor-Leste. The foundation's supports to these countries had been offered through regular and repeated field visits by the Japanese experts. We had also supported a combined control programme of schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis and intestinal parastic infections in corporation with the respective government health services and international agencies such as WHO and UNICEF and local NGOs. This combined programme was designed to contribute toward overall improvement of the health of infant and child population of the developing countries such as Cambodia and Timor-Leste.
